Background
Real estate investors are demanding in their search for companies:
• Who can serve as one point of contact to carry out focused, strategic
real estate plans, and
•
Which increase returns on investments.
The Strategic Advisory Group of Companies was created to serve this increasingly
important demand.
The principals, Jim Robertson
and Harris Myers, CPM,
have complementary backgrounds and expertise which successfully serves their
clients’ objectives. Mr. Robertson’s background is in corporate
and investment real estate. Having served the Washington, D.C. market for over
12 years before relocating to Charleston, South Carolina in 1998, Mr. Robertson
rose through the ranks over the years to Senior Vice President of a downtown
commercial real estate firm.
Mr. Myers background is in commercial property management, maintenance and
asset management. Mr. Myers has been serving the Charleston, South Carolina
market since 1992. His focus on analyzing expenses for cost containment, while
establishing facility plans to maximize revenues has resulted in long term
relationships with various property owners.
Our mission is simple,
- We cannot be masters to many and be good at what we do. Therefore,
we work on just a few projects each year and offer our clients exceptional,
focused attention on the project at hand. We are focused.
- We listen to our clients. Our clients are our greatest assets. Listening
to their needs and objectives produce clear and decisive real estate plans
to maximize objectives. We listen.
- We are problem solvers, not sales people. Sales people do what ever
it takes to close the sale for the fee income and proceed on to the next deal.
The most successful individuals in business are problem solvers not sales people.
Problem solvers listen, evaluate and develop strategic action plans that create
value for their clients. As problem solvers, service after the sale is paramount.
We solve problems.
- Prudently, we always analyze situations and transactions as if
we were the property owners and the opposing negotiating team. Having the expertise
and creative ability to “see and analyze the deal” from the other
side, creates “win-win” negotiations. Too many people are one sided,
where there must be a winner and loser. These transactions typically fail.
Additionally, being real estate investors ourselves, there is no better way
to “see the forest through the trees” than to insert ourselves
as the property owners when we evaluate and prepare to avoid worst case scenarios
that arise during negotiations. We are the “win-win” team.
By adhering to the four points above, The Strategic Advisory Group of Companies
excels with its clients based upon:
- Nurturing long-term relationships
- Performance and trust
- Executive level expertise
- Principal involvement in all transactions
- Fresh and creative thinking to
add value
